JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision, ensures the smooth operation of the organization’s technology infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Installs and configures hardware; sets up and configures computers, printers, and other office equipment ensuring compatibility and functionality;
- Assists in configuring and maintaining network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls; supports the overall network infrastructure;
- Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, network, and system issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain productivity;
- Performs regular updates, apply patches, and monitor systems for performance and security, helping extend the life of equipment and software;
- Maintains up-to-date records of IT assets, inventory, and support tickets; documents solutions for recurring issues and updates relevant guides or procedures;
- Prepares and manages AV equipment for meetings, including projectors, microphones, speakers, and live streaming, if required;
- Responds to and assists users with technical issues, requests, or questions via calls, emails, and in-person visits, ensuring a positive support experience;
- Handles tasks such as cable management, setting up workstations, and helping with physical tasks live moving or assembling furniture when necessary;
- Takes pictures during events and manages the Village website, ensuring content is up-to-date and functioning properly; and
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field; and
- Two (2) years proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position;
- Or equivalent training, education and/or experience;
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional; and
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Village policies and procedures;
- Act as representative of the Village to the public;
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks;
- Working knowledge of department practices and procedures;
- Effectively and efficiently organize and track department records;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work; and
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations.
