Welcome to Our Village StoryWalk®! Let’s get outside and read!
A StoryWalk® is a delightful literacy project that brings children’s books outdoors. Imagine taking a children’s book, disassembling it page by page, and displaying each page along a walking route in your community. As you stroll, the story unfolds, encouraging both literacy and physical activity. The concept is now an international movement that adds a kinetic component to reading. Simply follow the signs and go!
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
The Miami Shores Village StoryWalk® project was made possible by a grant from the Florida League of Mayors. New titles will be brought to you throughout the year by the Brockway Memorial Library.
