Mission Statement

Brockway Memorial Library’s mission is to engage our community in opportunities for literacy and lifelong learning and to enrich the lives of our patrons by providing access to a wide variety of information, materials, and offerings, with a focus on education, the arts and culture.



We are pleased to announce the Library has re-opened to all Miami Shores Residents and Brockway Memorial Library cardholders!

Coronavirus (COVID‑19) precautionary measures are in place to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff.

 To enter and use the library, all visitors are required to:

  • Wear a face mask or face covering (ages 2+) at all times while inside the library – nose and mouth must be covered
  • Sanitize hands upon entry
  • Practice social distancing of 6ft
  • Show proof of MSV residency and/or Brockway Library Membership prior to entry



Monday, Wednesday, Friday

10am-11am – Open to Senior Citizens ONLY (Age 55+)

11am-6pm – Open to all Residents and Brockway Library Cardholders


9am-1pm – Open to all Residents and Brockway Library Cardholders (No Senior Hour on Saturdays)

Due to occupancy limitations, we ask that in-person visits are no longer than 30 minutes, excepting those who wish to use the Library’s study room, which will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and will allow for a study session up to 2 hours per individual. 

We encourage all visitors to access the Library’s online catalog on their personal devices and smartphones at www.brockwaylibrary.org to assist while browsing!



For our guests who are not ready to visit in-person, curbside service will still be offered on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm and Thursdays from 2pm-6pm.

How Does it Work?

Curbside service is for pick-up of pre-ordered library materialsSimply call the Library when you arrive at 305-758-8107 and a staff member will bring your items out. If possible, please park in front of the Library along NE 2nd Avenue.

STEP 1. Pre-order and reserve Library materials.

Patrons with a Brockway Memorial Library card may request up to 10 items per family per pickup.  Requests may be made by calling 305-758-8107 or online at www.brockwaylibrary.org by logging in to your account.  Call us if you need help!

STEP 2. Wait for notification that items are ready for pick-up.

You will be notified by phone or email when your requested items are ready for pick-up.  You will be given a day and time that you can drive up to get your items.  It’s simple!


Curbside Safety

  • Stay in your car.
  • Wear a face mask.
  • Have your ID ready and your trunk open.

Returns can also be made at pick-up.  Have them ready in your trunk!

Bullying Disclosure

Brockway Memorial Library is committed to a safe and fun-filled environment free from harassment, intimidation or bullying for all of our participants and staff regardless of race, color, ethnicity, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation. We are working very hard in making the Library facilities a Bully Free Zone! We encourage our patrons and participants to report any type of bullying they may experience, hear or see occurring in our Library.
