⚠️ Government Scam & Impersonation Alert

Miami Shores Village is warning all residents and customers about an increase in scams and impersonation attempts. Fraudsters are posing as Village representatives through phone calls, text messages, emails, mailed letters, or even in-person visits to steal personal information, demand payments, or trick you into clicking on malicious links.

🚨 How Scammers Operate
  • They may use official-looking logos or fake (“spoofed”) email addresses.
  • They often create a sense of urgency to pressure you into acting quickly.
  • They may demand unusual payment methods, such as wire transfers or gift cards.
✅ Important Facts
  • The Village will not request wire transfers for day to day business transactions with residents or customers.
  • Official payment instructions will only come:
    • From Village staff using an @msvfl.gov email address
    • Through approved payment options listed on our website: www.msvfl.gov
    • Or in person at Village facilities
  • If a message or request does not follow these procedures, it is not legitimate.

🛡️ Protect Yourself

  • Only respond to requests related to verified Village business.
  • Confirm directly with the Village staff member you’re working with, or call the main line at (305) 795-2207.
  • You can also visit Village Hall in person to verify any request.
  • Never share personal or financial information in response to suspicious communications.
