Purpose
Miami Shores Village announces its intent to conduct a pilot program for composting services in collaboration with Renüable, a company specializing in sustainable organic waste management. The purpose of this pilot program is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of diverting organic materials from the solid waste stream through composting.
Program Description
The pilot program will involve limited-scale composting activities within Miami Shores Village Hall for an evaluation period of approximately ninety (90) days. The program objectives include:
- Assessing operational feasibility and logistics for community composting;
- Measuring diversion rates and potential cost savings;
- Evaluating environmental and community benefits; and
- Promoting sustainability and resident engagement in waste reduction initiatives.
Vendor Participation
This pilot program with Renüable is being conducted for demonstration and evaluation purposes only and does not constitute a contract or commitment to future procurement.
Other qualified firms interested in providing similar composting pilot programs are invited to submit information about their services and capabilities for review by the Village. Any future expansion or formal procurement related to composting services will be conducted in accordance with Chapter 287, Florida Statutes, and the Miami Shores Village Purchasing Policies, ensuring open and fair competition.
