Project Progress
The proposed projects provide enhanced pedestrian safety and mobility while improving ADA-compliant crosswalks along the Village’s local roadways. The 36 new curb ramps will improve pedestrian connectivity throughout the Village.
Eight-foot wide asphalt multi-purpose path along the west side of Club Drive between the roadway and the right-of-way line, along the Miami Shores Village (Village Flagler Trail on Club Drive, between 91st Street and NE 100 Street.
The project involves expanding the existing sidewalk to create a wide multi-purpose path facility measuring 10 feet in width on both sides of NE 6th Avenue, stretching from NE 96th Street to NE 107th Street. This proposed initiative aims to enhance safety and mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists in the area.

The Village has divided the project into two parts. The first part involves optimizing the roadways' pitch to ensure proper water flow into street drains. The second part focuses on implementing an underground drainage system. This proposal pertains to the initial phase of the project, which is funded through the FDOT grant for Roadway Improvements (FM 450906-54-1, DOT Grant). While this phase will partially improve the drainage system in the area, a comprehensive analysis of the underground drainage system, funded under Dep Drainage Grant #LPA 0335, will connect with the proposed drainage in this proposal. Coordination between the two projects will be necessary.
